Don’t miss Dana Hemphill on ‘The Lexi Show’ tonight

dana word network

She is the voice of her generation and with her declaration “I Shall Live”, Dana Hemphill is poised to take the gospel music industry by storm! Tonight, she is a guest on the Word Network‘s “The Lexi Show“. The Lexi show is hosted by gospel music artist, comedienne and entrepreneur Lexi Allen. Lexi’s show has swung at both ends of the pendelum as she isn’t afraid to cover controversial topics (Tonex/B-Slade, Bishop Carlton Pearson) or discuss subjects the church audience may not be ready/willing to openly discuss. On a lighter side, her parody skits are hilarious and are shared across all social media streams.

Without a doubt, Lexi knows music and it should come as no surprise that her guest tonight is Dana Hemphill. Dana’s journey of faith included embarking on a cross country journey in obedience to God. Leaving family and familiarity behind in Kansas; Hemphill’s journey of faith has taken her full circle. As cumbersome as life’s low points may be, high points like marrying the love of her life (Lewis) and the birth of their daughter have made her journey of faith worth the while.

I Shall Live
The plans of the Lord are perfect and complete. Hemphill intimated that though her journey is replete with challenging moments, her faith continues to grow. She is now ready to share her declaration with the world, telling of the goodness of the Lord. Whether ministering on stage or leading worship, Hemphill’s ‘offering’ reaches the Heavens. Hemphill’s scriptural reference and declaration are derived from Psalm 118:17 and the she has a mighty declaration for the people of God.

Drawing Nigh
“I Will Declare”, Hemphill’s debut project includes music, production and guest appearances by Daniel Weatherspoon, Myron Butler and American Idol finalist George Huff.  On this project, Hemphill expresses the beatings of her heart on this project that will reach the worshipper deep inside each listener. Hemphill’s music is easily described as ‘relationship music’ that will place listeners in a true posture of worship lasting the entire length of the project.

Who is Dana Hemphill?

“Dana Hemphill is one of the freshest voices I’ve had the opportunity to work with. She possesses a distinct anointing that is effective and refreshing!”
-Myron Butler, Grammy/Stellar Winning Producer, Songwriter and Artist“Dana is an extraordinary talent who has a heart to match. Her upcoming album will be a blessing to all who hear it.” -Michael Weatherspoon, CEO of SpoonFed Productions

“I Shall Not Die” was my instant favorite. The moment I heard it, I was sold on the dynamic ministry of Dana Hemphill. It’s time, the world is ready for her!
-Fred Willis, SMG/SoulProsper Radio

My offering, the single, speaks the sentiments of my heart. I owe God my everything and will present my life and being as an offering unto him. I want listeners to be able to receive a word of restoration and healing to ignite the fire they once had for God! For the unbeliever, I pray that it is used as an instrument to direct them to real relationship with Christ.
-Dana Hemphill

Meet Cortney Richardson, the voice behind 2014’s hottest new single: “In This Place”

“For some, church has become a ritualistic activity that yields no fruit because so many of us have learned how to do church and create a church experience. WE need a true experience with God not a man-made experience. His glory is what we need.”

Majestic. Voice of an Angel. Powerful. Awe-Inspiring. All words that have been used by many to describe the ministry and voice of 24 year old preacher, singer, songwriter and producer Cortney Richardson. If you spend just a few moments with Cortney, you will see that he is undoubtedly a WEAPON OF MASS INSPIRATION.

A native Memphian, University of Memphis graduate, entrepreneur and licensed minister, Richardson has inspired many through his strong leadership qualities and character. Richardson’s ministry influence is tangible on the college campus, his local church, community organizations, and as the youngest member of the Ben Hooks Institute Board.

Childhood yielded the discovery of his passion for singing. He has since traveled the world singing the Lord’s song, even in strange lands. In December 2007, Richardson was part of a 7 City European Tour and has since become an integral part of the New York based Glory Gospel Singers under the leadership of Phyliss McKoy-Joubert.

As part of “Junigatsu” 2012 & 2013, Richardson traveled with the Glory Gospel Singers on a 21 concert Japan Tour. There he ministered as part of the enthralling Glory Gospel Tenors. This inimitable trio captivated audiences across the island of Japan. His remarkable voice can be heard on the Glory Gospel Singers’ “Manhattan Kiss” release, featuring the music of Mariya Takeuchi.

In addition to “Manhattan Kiss”, Richardson was part of an acapella GGS ensemble that recorded “White Christmas”, a worldwide top seller for the GGS franchise. His gift quickly made room for him, as he took the helm of a total of five songs on the two projects. Richardson, a new comer no longer quickly became a crowd favorite with his three octave range.

Listen to   “In This Place” by Cortney Richardson

Richardson’s recently released EP features 3 songs and a worship reprise. His passion for worship is reflected in his very own masterpiece, “In This Place”. Also the title track, “In This Place” expresses his sincere desire for God’s glory to be revealed in His people.

You’ll also hear “The Corinthian Song” written by V. Michael McKay. Richardson’s rendition stands worlds apart from previously recorded versions by Kathy Taylor and Micah Stampley. McKay says of Richardson “He can record anything that comes from my pen.” Look for more collaborations from the two, soon.

The blistering opener to the EP, “Famous” was penned by Grammy nominated composer James Wilson. Of it Richardson says:

“This song speaks of my passion which is to make the name of JESUS famous, that’s what I was created for”.

Whether in state of the art auditoriums, the National Civil Rights Museum, The Peabody Hotel, venues domestically and internationally, or the local church, this mighty minstrel sings as an inspired worshipper. He is the man of Psalm 1; a man of integrity and action that believes “the place of comfort is the place of paralysed potential.”

Alone time with God (The Rob Mercer Story)

Rob Mercer
Life can be a rat race.  Job, family, church and other responsibilities can fill our days, and sometimes, even the most dedicated Christian can skip time with God.  But what are we missing when we miss our time with God?  Gospel artist Rob Mercer understands the value of being alone with God.  It’s during those times that he senses the presence of God the most.

“I’ll never forget the time I left Norfolk, VA in route to Washington, DC with a plan to catch up on my favorite sports talk radio shows the entire drive,” recounts Rob. “I made a quick stop by 7-11 to pick up a bottle of water and some snacks and headed toward Highway 64. Somewhere between 7-11 and Highway 64, I began to enjoy the silence and serenity that engulfed the automobile. I began to think about how God has truly enriched my life. I thought about how that day had been full of blessings at the church where I ministered. I thought about the wonderful family that He had chosen for me during this life. Then I thought about the scripture in Joshua 1 where He tells us if we meditate on His word day and night, we’ll have good success. Before I knew it, my alone time with God had lasted over 3 hours and I was pulling up in my driveway still without a clue of what was going on in the sports world.”
There are things that we can only experience with God when we are by ourselves, far away from the hustle and bustle of life.  It’s during those still and quiet times – when God has our undivided attention – that He can speak to us.
Rob says, “I’ve realized that every major move of God has happened when I was alone with Him. Now there have been some powerful and amazing times in fellowship with family, friends and the body of Christ. But it was in the alone time that He called me into ministry. It was in the alone time that He told me to lay hands on myself and I found healing for a pain in my leg that had lasted over a year. It was also in the alone time that He freed me from the indignity and anguish of going through a divorce. Not to mention, the songs and sermons that He has given me over the years that continue to bless people week in and week out.”
Rob’s alone times with God have also helped him to realize that it’s God alone who has total and complete authority over his life – although sometimes that’s not readily apparent.  In this world, it’s easy to believe that man has ultimate power.  Man has thrived on power since the beginning of time.  Countries, politicians, militaries, and even celebrities wield it at a whim and those who have it can’t seem to get enough of it.  But does man really possess power?  With one hurricane, tornado or flood, man’s illusion of power is shattered and he finds himself looking up to the true power source.

Mercer understands that God alone is in control.  The up-and-coming singer-songwriter recently released a new song called, “God Alone”.  A soft and pensive tune, “God Alone”, reminds the listener of the autonomy of God.  The song’s lyrics speak of the amazing command He has over the universe: “Completely sovereign, absolute rule, director of all things, none compares to you, unlimited power, ancient of days, exclusive authority, we don’t have a say; You are God alone.”

The modern-day psalm is perfect to sing during those intimate times with God.  The song, a track on Rob’s debut release, The Photo Album, is one of the highlights of the new CD.  The single, already soaring up the BDS Gospel Charts, has a complementary concept video showcasing Rob during his alone times with God.

For Mercer, it’s in those alone times with the Lord, where he finds direction.  It’s in those times he’s learned how to inspire others.  “I have realized that I’m never alone,” says Mercer.  “I have a God who never leaves me nor forsakes me. He is an omnipresent God who is with us at all times. When you can’t see His hand or understand His ways, you may think He’s deserted you, but what the alone time teaches us is that Isaiah 55:8 is right: ‘His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways'”.
